I’m adding teddies to my bears collections. Never know why but people tend to give teddy bears to me. Maybe I look like a never grown up kid. Perhaps.

Don’t you think I just have more than enough bears at home?

My biggest collection is Mr Bear standing at 5″ 5′ and that’s taller than me costing more than 700 bucks. Of course I don’t buy it myself. Would have spend that amount of money on something else.

I got a small globe from a thoughtful friend. She was telling me that globe stands for power and authority. Wishing me to be successful at work. I’ll surely thank her if I manage to get bigger pay for my end of year increment.

And I have got this beautiful towel that I sayang want to use. It is so cute that I think I will end up displaying it instead.

During Mother’s Day last month, I treated mom to her favourite eyebrow care and treatment by getting her eyebrow done again at Bluunis Beauty Centre.

Previously, it was known as Ultimate Impression. I’m still stuck of calling it Ultimate Impression, eventhough they have change their centre name like a year ago.

Mom and I always come to have her eyebrow done on Mother’s Day. It has been like a tradition for my mother’s gift for her. Frankly I do not know what to get her, don’t really know what she likes other than Fung Shui stuff, but I know she always want to have nice eyebrow even at her golden age.

My aunt from KL is the one recommended her the centre actually. Previously they don’t have this Ultimate Impression in Penang. It was only available in KL and mom went all the way to get her eyebrow done in KL. Ever since they have branches it Penang, it is much more easier.

It takes around 20-30 minutes to get her eyebrow done. Meanwhile, since I have nothing to do, I went around cam-whoring myself.

International Women’s Day

Posted by: pinklady  :  Category: Economy & Politic, Girl's Talk

It’s 8th March….It’s International Women’s Day!

Since 1910 women have been more successful and their voices are being heard. They are allow to vote and attend meetings. Today we even have great women who are successful leaders in politics and able to lead the country as well as men.

The idea of International Women Day comes from working women who table the meetings, the woman by the name of Clara Zetkin (Leader of the ‘Women’s Office’ for the Social Democratic Party in Germany) proposed that every year in every country there should be a celebration on the same day – a Women’s Day – to press for their demands. There’s where the International Women Day kicked off.

I’m just wondering do we have International Men’s Day?

I was just telling Big Baby that he didn’t wish me “Happy International Women Day”. Sigh.
And he gave me that look full with million questions in his mind.

Today 8th March is a memorable date to remember.

It’s also the date where Pakatan rule over. Today is the 1st year of anniversary for Pakatan Rakyat in Penang. Victory for Pakatan Rakyat is a good start but it isn’t good enough to celebrate 8th March 2009 for its first year anniversary.

We have lost Perak. Thanks to Hee Yit Fung. I just read in the newspaper today that she appeared in Mercedes Benz with her husband at the office but was forced to leave within 45min. People are definitely cursing her and scolding her everyday. Looks like Hee has got a better deal, rather than a Camry, she seemed to have been seen around in Mercedes Benz.

I don’t think she ought to be respect or will she ever gain the people respect to her. For one reason, she is not the best role model in International Women’s Day today. She is known betraying the people trust.  Seems like the people in the market also boycott her parents by not selling them vegetables and fishes in the market.

Well, I am sure she has seen all these coming.

Anyway still, Happy International Women’s Day…

Happy Valentine Day 09

Posted by: pinklady  :  Category: Food & Dine In, Girl's Talk

It’s Valentine Day.

Valentine as a priest who refused an unattested law attributed to Emperor Claudius II, who allegedly ordering that young men remain single. The Emperor supposedly did this to grow his army, believing that married men did not make for good soldiers. The priest Valentine, however, secretly performed marriage ceremonies for young men. When Claudius found out about this, he had Valentine arrested and thrown in jail and before Valentine was to be executed, he wrote the first “valentine” himself, addressed to a young girl variously identified as his beloved, the jailer’s daughter whom he had befriended. Sweet and romantic isn’t it? Celebrating the death of Mr. Valentine.

It is a good rest throughout the weekends. I went for the Kek Lok Si laksa on Sunday. There wasn’t much people there as it used to be. Maybe it’s because it has been quite late at night.

My god family

Posted by: pinklady  :  Category: Girl's Talk, Rant & Rave

Amazing and true enough, my god brother got married last year. I just discovered it when I went to his house for CNY visit. Even though we are having the god-bro and god-sis relationship, sad enough we are not close. Perhaps we have different personalities and characters. Perhaps the things we do are different, perhaps our topic of conversation doesn’t suit each other.

The only time I really see my god-family is during Chinese New Year. It has been a tradition to go house visit their house each new year. When I was small and…I can say even now, I dragged myself to go to their house. Perhaps I am too shy. I really have no idea what to talk about with them. It would be amazing if I can last half an hour at their place. Lucky enough, each time I have my brother to tag along with me. When I was younger, my mom used to be the one striking the conversation. It was until then that she is not so well to walk, she couldn’t join us out as often as she would like to be. Then, it is my brother who takes place playing the role of big brother bringing her little sister for traditional house visit.

Xmas countdown was pretty lame and dull. There wasn’t much people at Queensbay Mall…Where are all the people?! Heck. Maybe its due to the recession and economy downturn people are not partying much.

Anyway Christmas is still Christmas. At this moment I bet inside the church is even more happening than outside. There are a bunch of college kids doing the college kids stuff. Red hats and that remind me of being a Santarina at the age of 24. I had a Santarina costume and a cute Xmas hat on me and going around giving out candies wishing people Merry Christmas. Pretty happening huh?! Btw, I am a little cute Santarina, I just can’t describe why to you…and too bad I didn’t keep any of the Santarina picture because I got too embarassed over it.

Merry Christmas everyone!

2008 Christmas is a real slow down in Penang. Hopefully things will get better after next year. Still…Christmas is still Christmas.  Have an enjoyable ones!
