Kristin Kreuk starred in Smallville as Lana Lang, the high-school crush and the first primary love interest of Superman himself, Clark Kent. She returned briefly for a five-episode guest appearance the following year.
What Happened
Kristin also landed the leading role on Canadian series Edgemont as Laurel Yeung when a casting director called up her high school looking for actors. The same year she debuted on Edgemont, Kristin lent her voice to an episode of The Weekenders.
She later married and divorced his arch-nemesis Lex Luthor before absorbing kryptonite radiation, permanently separating her from Clark, allowing Kristin to leave the show in 2008 and explore other opportunities.
She went on to star in 70 episodes of the show between 2001 and 2005.
Kristin briefly stepped away from major projects following her departure from Smallville in 2008, before returning for another mainstream TV role in Beauty and the Beast between 2012 and 2016.
