The deceased have been identified as 32-year-old Sumanth, a civil engineering graduate from Dakshina Kannada, and his 29-year-old wife Padmavathi, a software professional from Hubballi. According to police, the couple had an argument at their residence in Rajeshwari Nagar, Hegganahalli, on Wednesday, which later.

Sumanth allegedly assaulted Padmavathi and suffocated her with a pillow, causing her to lose consciousness. After realising that Padmavathi was not breathing, Sumanth allegedly called his mother and told her what had happened.

What Happened

He subsequently sent her a message indicating that he was going to die. His mother alerted the landlord after seeing the message.

  • The bodies have been shifted to Victoria Hospital for post-mortem examination.

  • The Rajagopal Nagar Police reached the spot and registered a case.

  • When the house was opened, Sumanth was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the hall, while Padmavathi was found dead inside the residence.
