Logo text Netflix has tapped Kirill Sokolov, the helmer behind horror action movie They Will Kill You, to direct the original sci-fi thriller Blur. Netflix is keeping the logline a hop, skip and a jump from prying eyes but it is known to be.
The project is based on a previous script by Christy Hall and Dan Casey. Sokolov will co-write the new draft with Ellen Shanman.
What Happened
After writing and directing another Russian dark action comedy, No Looking Back, he journeyed to the U.S. He made his English-language debut earlier this year with They Will Kill You, an action-horror-comedy released by Warner Bros.
Sokolov is the Russian filmmaker who broke out with Why Don’t You Just Die, his 2019 dark crime action comedy that was infused with early Tarantino influences.
THR praised the movie for its gonzo style.
Set in a Manhattan luxury building whose Satan-worshipping tenants engage in ritualistic killings, the movie starred Zazie Beetz.
