International Women’s Day

It’s 8th March….It’s International Women’s Day!

Since 1910 women have been more successful and their voices are being heard. They are allow to vote and attend meetings. Today we even have great women who are successful leaders in politics and able to lead the country as well as men.

The idea of International Women Day comes from working women who table the meetings, the woman by the name of Clara Zetkin (Leader of the ‘Women’s Office’ for the Social Democratic Party in Germany) proposed that every year in every country there should be a celebration on the same day – a Women’s Day – to press for their demands. There’s where the International Women Day kicked off.

I’m just wondering do we have International Men’s Day?

I was just telling Big Baby that he didn’t wish me “Happy International Women Day”. Sigh.
And he gave me that look full with million questions in his mind.

Today 8th March is a memorable date to remember.

It’s also the date where Pakatan rule over. Today is the 1st year of anniversary for Pakatan Rakyat in Penang. Victory for Pakatan Rakyat is a good start but it isn’t good enough to celebrate 8th March 2009 for its first year anniversary.

We have lost Perak. Thanks to Hee Yit Fung. I just read in the newspaper today that she appeared in Mercedes Benz with her husband at the office but was forced to leave within 45min. People are definitely cursing her and scolding her everyday. Looks like Hee has got a better deal, rather than a Camry, she seemed to have been seen around in Mercedes Benz.

I don’t think she ought to be respect or will she ever gain the people respect to her. For one reason, she is not the best role model in International Women’s Day today. She is known betraying the people trust.  Seems like the people in the market also boycott her parents by not selling them vegetables and fishes in the market.

Well, I am sure she has seen all these coming.

Anyway still, Happy International Women’s Day…

Hee Yit Fong did betrayed the trust of Jelapang people

Jelapang assemblywoman Hee Yit Fong, previous deputy state speaker in the Pakatan Rakyat government and had been in DAP for some 20 years has decided to cross over to BN. Her move shows that she is more concerned about herself than the party or the people who selected her.

Hee is a clerk-turned-politician has been upset with the state party leadership because she did not get a new official car when the Pakatan Rakyat government bought Toyota Camrys to replace an ageing fleet of Proton Perdanas.

Over this economy slow turn, such an irresponsible Hee can think about is only over a Japanese car. There is no justification whatsoever on her actions. All these for the want of a Camry. She has definitely let down the people who has elected her. I still do not understand how Hee can betrayed the trust of people over a Japanese car. Such a joker. How can she ever gain the respect of the people?

The goverment should call for election again after Hee has cross over. It is the people choice. Let them choose who they want to lead Perak. Hee’s move shouldn’t be take into consideration over Perak’s fall back to BN.

BN lost in Kuala Terengganu by-election

Posted by: pinklady  :  Category: Economy & Politic

BN lost again in Kuala Terengganu by-election. It is not a surprise after BN lost in 5 states in March 2008 election.  People have start to question if BN has really lost its trump cards in KT and will that include most of the places in Malaysia in time to come?

Najib, the Prime Minister-in-waiting however denied that the poll was a vote of no confidence on his leadership. He is confident that  in the end the people will be confident of BN. I am not so sure of his remark, but we shall see about that.

PAS wins KT by 2,631 votes

UMNO will call a meeting to discuss various issues pertaining to the by-election lost. This is the same thing they mentioned when BN lost 5 states during the March election last year. It is definitely the time for them to do some soul searching.

Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi told the reporters,  “God willing, we will win but we will have to work very hard”

Work hard may not be enough to fix all the problems and various unsolve issues raise under the leadership of BN. The fall in Kuala Terengganu this time include various issues including dissatisfaction over the rising cost of living include the sudden increase of petrol hike.

It is definitely an awful day for Badawi, Najib and BN.  BN has lost enough…but this may be only the “beginning”
